Microsoft Outlook.com and SkyDrive users experience outage.


It is amazing how technology has changed our lives.  Technology has also decreased our patience and increased our expectations for a quick response.  We are all connected to our mobile devices 24/7.  In a world of instant gratification, technology outages are unacceptable.  A single website outage can cost millions of dollars in sales.  Microsoft experienced an outage with their Outlook.com and SkyDrive cloud services.  Microsoft claims that a minimal number of users were affected.  However, users were locked out of their accounts for approximately 7 hours.  Microsoft has not released the reason for the service interruption.  It is ironic that this occurred a week after Microsoft praised themselves for a 99.9 percent uptime for Office 365.
